Wildlife

Byron Bay Dolphins

We are blessed with abundant wildlife in and around Byron. You could be sitting on the beach and the next thing your view of the sea is broken by a tail fluke lazily waving at you.

Maybe a school of hundreds of mullet are going past and dolphins are blissing out feeding to their hearts content, or your snorkelling and a turtle swims by then darts off at the sight of you.

You might be sitting at the surf club watching Steve build a sandcastle like you’ve never dreamed of and a snake slithers past. Frogs and Geckos are abundant to help rid us of the less welcome wildlife. There has even been reports in Mullumbimby of sightings of a Tasmanian tiger.

Things happen all the time around Byron just call and ask us what’s happening at the time you plan to stay and we will fill you in.

We have a regular pod of Dolphins who can be seen just about every day, swimming feeding and surfing amongst other swimmers and surfers (human).

The winter sun is delightful – quite an uncrowded time here in Byron. Ocean temperature is currently 21 degrees warmer than the air temp.

The weather is beautiful. Great for diving and whale watching.
